[edit] History

From scottycameron.com

INSPIRATION: The Newport model draws its inspiration from the Classic 1, one of the first putters produced by Cameron Golf International in late 1992, and made famous in the 1993 Masters win. The Newport has a plumbing neck for 1/4 toe hang and optimal toe flow. The radius topline and softened edges create a more natural, less mechanical look, and the use of solid carbon steel and one piece milling produce better sound and feel. Like the Classic Series, the Newport is hand ground, hand shaped, and hand polished.
