[edit] History
Designed originally by John Reuter Jr, and based off of the "Golden Goose" design by John Letters, the BullsEye putter is considered by many to be the most recognizable putter design in the world.
"If you hand 100 "Non-Golfers" a pencil and ask them to draw a putter, the BullsEye is what most would draw. -Anonymous.
In 1962 Acushnet acquired John Reuter Jr., Inc., maker of the popular Bulls Eye putter. It has held this trademark, and produced the putter with its script on it since 1965.
The "Bullseye Flange" design was added in the mid 70s after Mr. Reuter and TP Mills coordinated on the design to offer a heavier putter.
[edit] Variations and Inspired Designs
The basic design of the putter hasn't changed much, and it is still produced by Acushnet under the Scotty Cameron name to this day. Before Cameron was associated with Titleist, he produced the Cameron CGI Classic 3 putter under Cameron Golf International.
